Drone Strike Targets Gas Field in Northern Iraq

(MENAFN) A drone assault took place late Wednesday at the Khor Mor gas field, situated in northern Iraq’s Sulaymaniyah province.

The Kurdish Regional Government’s Ministries of Natural Resources and Electricity reported the event in a joint statement, noting that it occurred at "11.30 pm local time (2030GMT)."

According to the announcement, the attack caused gas flow to power generation plants to be "completely halted."

Footage circulated on social media platforms depicted flames engulfing the site.
No organization has yet "claimed responsibility" for the assault.

The Khor Mor field is a vital component of the region’s electricity supply and overall energy stability.
